Approval of Amendment #11 to the FY2016-25 Transportation Improvement Plan (10 minutes)

Narrative
NCDOT pushed back the concurrency and effectiveness date for the upcoming FY2018-27 TIP from October 1, 2017 to January 1, 2018. The result of this delay is that projects will not be able to access FY18 STBGDA or CMAQ funds during the interim period. In order to allow projects that are ready to access those funds, an amendment to the current FY2016-25 is required.
Three DCHC MPO projects meet this description:
- C-5650, South Greensboro Street Sidewalk in Carrboro (this is a new TIP number due to the inclusion of CMAQ funds, previously U-4726Dx);
- U-5543, Variable Message Signs in Chapel Hill; and
- U-5549, Churton Street Improvements in Hillsborough.
This amendment will allow these projects to access FY18 STBGDA and FY18 CMAQ funds in early October. A summary list and full report of the changes are included as attachments along with a resolution to be signed by the MPO Board Chair upon approval by the Board.
