FY2025 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) Approval (10 Minutes)

Narrative
The DCHC MPO is required by federal regulation to prepare an annual Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) that details and guides the urban area transportation planning activities. Funding for the UPWP is provided by the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration. The UPWP must identify MPO planning tasks to be performed with the use of federal transportation funds.
The MPO Board released the Draft FY2025 UPWP for public comment on January 23. A public hearing was held at the February 27 Board meeting. No comments from the public were provided at the meeting.
The remaining schedule for the UPWP development process is as follows:
- March 26: MPO Board approves the final FY2025 UPWP.
- March 28: MPO submits approved UPWP to NCDOT.
The Final Draft FY2025 UPWP, public comments received as of February 20th, and the full development schedule are included as information. A list of the special studies and MPO Managed Transportation Planning Studies outlined in the UPWP are also included below for reference.
